Private NetBanking Online Banking for Personal Clients
What is happening?
As a result of our operational upgrade, your current online banking service was disabled Friday, January 29, 2010. You now have access to your new online banking system, Private NetBanking.
How do I access the new online banking system?
To access Private NetBanking, please go to www.theprivatebank.com and look for the online banking button in the upper right hand corner of the screen. In the drop-down list, select Chicago to go to the login screen.
Does my user name and password remain the same?
Your Personal User ID remains the same; however, any letters within your User ID will need to be entered as lower-case letters. Your Password is temporarily reset to the last four digits of your Social Security Number. You will be required to enter a new permanent password at your first login.
What happens to my transaction history?
Transaction history from your former online banking system did not transition to the new Private NetBanking system. However, if you choose to receive eStatements, 24 months of your statements will be available to you immediately.
What about my scheduled internal transfers?
All scheduled one-time and all recurring transfers between your PrivateBank accounts were transitioned to Private NetBanking. Transfers that were scheduled for January 30 and 31, 2010, will be completed on February 1, 2010.
If I use online bill pay will my scheduled payments be made?
Please be aware, while you will be unable to view your scheduled payments due between February 1, 2010 and February 4, 2010, your bill payments WILL be processed and paid on time. Please do not reschedule payments as they will be paid.
What online bill pay information is transferring to the new system?
Your normally scheduled bill payments and payee information through online banking were transferred to Private NetBanking. However, your bill pay transaction history was not transitioned to the new system.
While all of your payees and scheduled one-time and recurring payments were transitioned to the new system, if you have more than one recurring payment to the same payee with the same account number – such as your mortgage scheduled to be paid on the first of the month, and an additional payment toward principal scheduled for the middle of the month - only the first scheduled payment will be transitioned. You will need to re-register any second, or more, recurring payments to the same payee.
How will I receive Electronic Statements?
Please note: If you previously received eStatements you will need to enroll in Private NetBanking to continue receiving eStatements.
To receive statements electronically, please select the eStatement section after you have successfully logged in and accept the online Statement Service Agreement and Disclosure. If you do not perform this step, you will receive paper statements. After accepting the Agreement, you will receive email notification of statement availability online, at which time you can login to Private NetBanking and retrieve your statement. You will have access to 24 months of eStatements.
